SmartButt Trivia is built to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no logins, and no tracking. This page explains exactly what the app does and doesn't do with your information.
Optional card report notes. If you tap the flag icon on a card to report a problem with it, the note you type (and an optional suggested difficulty) is sent to our server and stored so we can fix the card. This is entirely optional — reporting a card without typing anything sends no note at all. We do not attach your name, email, device ID, or any other identifier to this note.
That's the only data the app itself sends to our servers. Everything else — which packs you own, which cards you've seen, your sound/motion preferences — is stored locally on your device and never leaves it.
All in-app purchases (expansion packs) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information — Apple handles billing directly, and your purchase history lives with Apple, not with us. Our app only checks with Apple's systems to confirm which packs you already own.
Card content and the optional report notes described above are stored using Supabase (a hosted Postgres database provider) and served through Vercel. These providers act purely as infrastructure — they host the data on our behalf and don't independently use it for their own purposes.
SmartButt Trivia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Since the app has no accounts and no fields for entering personal information, there's no path for a child to submit personal data through it in the first place.
Because report notes aren't linked to any identifier, we have no way to look up or delete a specific submission on request — there's nothing tying it back to you. If you'd rather not have a note stored at all, simply don't type one when reporting a card; tapping the flag with an empty note sends nothing.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
